AmpHour / Privacy
Privacy Policy
Last updated 3 August 2026.
The short version
AmpHour is a static website. There are no accounts, no cookies, no analytics, and no advertising trackers. We do not collect, store, or sell personal information about visitors, because we do not collect any.
What we don't do
We set no cookies. We do not use localStorage or sessionStorage. We run no analytics package — no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Segment, nothing. There is no advertising network on this site, no retargeting pixel, and no social media embed. Nothing you do here builds a profile, because nothing is recorded.
Comparison selections and system-builder choices live in your browser's memory only, and are gone the moment you close the tab. They are never transmitted to us.
Third parties that do see something
Being honest about this matters more than claiming perfection:
Cloudflare hosts the site. Like any web host, its servers necessarily process your IP address and browser user-agent to deliver pages, and it keeps operational logs for security and abuse prevention. We do not add analytics on top of those logs. See Cloudflare's own privacy policy for what they retain.
Google Fonts serves two typefaces from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Loading them sends your IP address to Google. We use no other Google service.
Merchants you click through to. Outbound links carry affiliate tracking, which typically means the merchant sets a cookie on their own domain recording that you arrived from AmpHour. That happens on their site under their privacy policy, not ours. We receive only aggregate commission reports — which products sold, never who bought them. We never learn your name, address, or payment details.
If you email us
Mail sent to privacy@carbidecoding.com is kept as long as needed to answer you and to keep a record of the correspondence. We do not add correspondents to a mailing list, and we do not send marketing email.
Children
This site is aimed at people specifying off-grid electrical equipment and is not directed at children under 13. We knowingly collect no information from anyone, children included.
Your rights
Regimes such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct, or delete personal data a business holds about you. We hold none, so in practice there is nothing to disclose or erase. If you believe otherwise, write to us and we will look into it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be described here rather than quietly edited in.
Who runs this site
